Braden Shattuck Wins Doylestown
Makefield Putters PGA Staff player Braden Shattuck has done it again! The 2022 Burlington Classic winner teed it up the following month on July 29th at the Doylestown Open to seize the day with yet another 1-stroke victory this season.
The 2022 Doylestown Open was less action and more focus than the Burlington Classic for Shattuck as Billy Stewart of Union Hill just finished posting a final score of 68 while Shattuck was on the way to the first tee box. A few holes into the round and Shattuck learned of another Makefield Putters PGA Staff Player – Trevor Bensel’s final score of 69.
It was a nerve-racking round to say the least but 68 remained the number to beat throughout the afternoon. With only 2 birdies and a bogey on the front nine, pulling off a W seemed like a stretch. But 3 more birdies on the back 9 going into no18 afforded Shattuck the opportunity to tie Stewart with a par or best him with a birdie. Sinking a 10-foot putt on the no18 green made for a total of 6 birdies and a well deserved victory for Braden Shattuck posting a total 67 for the round, besting Stewart by 1 stroke. After Shattuck’s Win the “Doylestown C.C. PGA Head Professional Travis Deibert presented the trophy and winner’s check, Shattuck thanked Titleist, Makefield Putters and Michael Little, PGA, Doylestown C.C., its membership, and Travis Deibert, Rolling Green G.C. PGA Head Professional Scott Chisolm, Rolling Green G.C., and its membership.”
As the winner of this year’s Doylestown Open, Shattuck qualifies to play in the Silvercrest Cup event featuring a $30k purse. The winner of the Silvercrest Cup gets a shot at taking home $15k.
