RCFT | Radial Cusp Face Technology
When we started Makefield Putters our goal was to make the best putter manufactured in the USA. The Makefield Putter starts off as a solid billet of aircraft grade alloy aluminum. Our material selection came down to a number of factors. What was machinable, what was good for performance and what was something that something that we could work with that would give us the performance that we wanted. That balance between manufacturable, machinable and performance led us to 6061 T6 Aircraft grade aluminum alloy.
In our development process we nailed down things like center of gravity, what type of material, how the putter was going to be built but we wanted to improve the most critical portion of the putting and that is the ball roll. We needed to have a face technology that allowed the ball to roll sooner off the face, stay straighter and truer on path.
We then worked to develop through many iterations of prototypes our Radial Cusp Face Technology. We developed the Radial Cusp Face Technology to reduce the amount of skid and improve the ball roll off the face. The Radial Cusp Face Technology has everything to do with these little cusps that reduce the amount of friction between the club face and the ball. These discreet small points hit the ball allowing for a quicker roll which keeps the ball on axis going on a straighter path moving forward.
