About Wayne

With more than 40 years of competitive golf experience and over 25 years as a golf instructor, Wayne DeFrancesco, PGA brings an exceptional combination of high-level playing experience, teaching expertise, and a lifelong commitment to understanding the game.

Wayne's competitive career began at LSU, where he was a Southeast Conference Champion and NCAA First Team All-American in 1979 alongside future PGA Tour stars including Fred Couples, Corey Pavin, John Cook, and Bob Tway. He went on to compete professionally on mini-tours, the PGA Tour, and the international circuit while building an accomplished career as a PGA professional.

After battling significant injuries and undergoing multiple surgeries, including a two-level spinal fusion, he was forced to completely reevaluate his swing and find a way to continue playing at a high level. That experience deepened his understanding of the golf swing and strengthened his commitment to helping players make improvements that hold up on the course.

Wayne is currently the Director of Instruction at Argyle Country Club in Silver Spring, Maryland.
